WOULD YOU DO THIS TO YOUR CHILD?
Monday, November 23, 2009
Now, let me confess, I have been laughing uncontrollably for hours on account of this picture and I don't know how to stop laughing. However, I can't help but wonder whether I am wrong for laughing about this but I...cannot...help...it. (Don't stare at the eyes).
And, did they cut that lacefront to specifically match that baby's hairline? LWKMD!!!! I just hope that cutie pie doesn't grow up with hair issues and feel the need to overrely on creamy crack[1] or wigs to achieve her desired hair look.
Although some of you will, like me, find this funny, it does remind me of the fact that so many of my daughter's female classmates in kindergarten already have straightened hair. Personally, I plan on keeping my baby natural for as long as possible and have already started teaching her how to take care of her hair, which is beautiful and healthy just the way it is. However, if and when she is old enough to care for her hair and she wants to get a relaxer, well, that will be her choice, I just hope I would have imparted as much hair knowledge to her so she doesn't suffer through hair problems on account of hair relaxers and other harsh chemicals.
Anyway, would you do this to your child - place a lacefront wig on a teeny little cutesy baby? I know I wouldn't, but I do think this picture is hilarious and every time I get stressed this week, I will simply take a quick glance for some comic relief.

November 23, 2009 12:55 AM
@ Tinu: Do you know you are the reigning queen at this blog. Nobody has as many 'Firsts' as you do, babe. How far?
November 23, 2009 1:58 AM
2nd.....
oh my God, is it me or does that little girl seem a little scary like a nightmare, seems like something i would see and shout
BLOOD OF JESUS lol
November 23, 2009 1:58 AM
This is a crime! :-(
November 23, 2009 2:19 AM
NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is sooooooooooo wrong!!!
SSD, how pikins and Oga? Been a while.
November 23, 2009 3:16 AM
NOT IN THIS LIFE OR IN THE ONE AFTER! LAI! LAI! I can never do that to my daughters! I also plan on keeping their hair natural till they are old enough to care for their hair!
Someone suggested that I should relax my daughter's hair so the hair would be "soft". I gave the person bad eye and then told her that was a no go area for me! Call me old school, call me old fashioned, but that is me. I would not even fix weave-on for her.
Haba! Mothers should stop inflicting pain on little girls all in the name of "beauty".
Anyway sha, I feel the picture is "make believe", 'cos I do not beleive any mother would do that to a child that little!
November 23, 2009 3:23 AM
Hmm i have no comment on this o.
November 23, 2009 3:29 AM
Child abuse!!! I'm sure somewhere somehow they will write that the glue is harmful to children. Its not fair! If my momma did that I'd be pissed as hell! My little sis had like no hair so they had to relax it so it would start coming out. Don't ask how but it worked. She was like 5 I think.
November 23, 2009 3:30 AM
This is cruel. Tending towards child abuse or so I think.
November 23, 2009 3:51 AM
is that for real? No, now that is wrong on so many levels. We kid around at home, making my newphews wear wigs and all, but lace front on a baby that looks like she doesnt even crawl yet...thats serious issues men.
PS: i laughed at the pic too!
November 23, 2009 5:02 AM
Ok, maybe it's because it's 4am and i'm extremely tired but i didn't think it was funny at all. The first thot that came to my head was not everyone should have kids.
November 23, 2009 5:07 AM
Obviously this is a joke na, people do all sorts to babies, but on the hair front if I do have daughters, their hair will be natural till they finish secondary school, after that they can do whatever they want with the hair. My mum put a jheri curl in my hair when I was four and all my hair fell out, I am still convinced my hair has never recovered.
November 23, 2009 6:44 AM
who the demon that did dat to dat kid????????????????????????? damn it. thats wickedness in its purest form.
November 23, 2009 6:50 AM
That can't be real! Solomonsydelle, I don't believe oh!
November 23, 2009 8:19 AM
this is disturbing on so many different levels!!!
im hopin this picture is/was photoshoped!
November 23, 2009 9:12 AM
This is disturbing, but very funny and indicative of how ridiculous lace front wigs/weaves are!
November 23, 2009 9:24 AM
This is HORRIBLE!!!! How dare the parents??? AARGGGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 23, 2009 10:22 AM
Babies have the most amazing natural hair! I havent even done this too my self in a while and then my child? Not in this life or in the one after. Lai lai! {quoted from dee}...
November 23, 2009 12:22 PM
This is nonsense,i saw this on 50 cent's blog, the child's parent should be flogged
November 23, 2009 1:35 PM
*Screaming* Blood of Jesus
this is soo uncool...
no no no
November 23, 2009 1:54 PM
This is scary, I was wondering whether it was photoshop at first. No way buddy...LOL
November 23, 2009 2:55 PM
I don't believe this...when I got this in my inbox, I said no, I am coming to the blog itself to see it. Gosh! The baby would definitely look pretty without that thing on her hair.
November 23, 2009 2:55 PM
No way,
I hope its a wig that can easily be taken off and it was put on just for fun purposes!
November 23, 2009 4:50 PM
while watching that pics the question that popped into my mind was this.. is that a real live baby or a doll..?
now! who would do that to her child, definitely not me
November 23, 2009 5:29 PM
this is wrong on soooooooooooooooooo many levels man! is this not child abuse????
November 23, 2009 5:51 PM
Goodness me! I thought it (she) was a doll at first. Poor child. Infact, the mother probably thinks she is a doll and treats her as one!
When the desire to indulge your own impulses overtakes your consideration of what is best for your child then....i really despair
November 23, 2009 6:55 PM
nooo way...that is not even cute at all...i hope the poor girl doesnt suffer from a headache
November 23, 2009 7:20 PM
now thats just plain disgusting - mschewwwwwwwwwwww
November 23, 2009 11:48 PM
work it darling, work it! lol
I see some catwalk potential in those luscious locks.
Dang! That must've been some kinda practical joke. That poor child will probably be blackmailed with this picture sometime in future (just sayin'!)
November 24, 2009 1:57 AM
Lol,this picture is hilarious but seriously i dnt think its right,i will never do such thing to my child.
November 24, 2009 4:23 AM
lmao!!!!abeg make the great daughter of tomorrow no believe in artificial hair o!
November 24, 2009 5:23 AM
hAba!
God forbid that I would subject my baby girl to such torture.
I know that babies have tender skulls at such tender age. That must be painful for a baby to carry!
November 24, 2009 6:06 AM
No way!
I thought the girl looked scary or is it just me?
November 24, 2009 9:09 AM
Haba!!! That is just plain wicked!!!
No relaxers until at least secondary school if need be and no weave-ons until uni!
November 24, 2009 12:48 PM
Gosh LWKM. this can't be real. this really cant be true jare, that baby is just too small, and any mother that can do that to her baby can as well abort her and avoid the pain of labour.
November 24, 2009 2:02 PM
Oh my...that has got to cost at least $500. At least. I coulda sworn that pic is photoshopped.
The weight of that thing on that baby's head nko?
November 24, 2009 4:53 PM
As funny as this picture is..i actually do not find it funny...shu! which kain thing be this...no no no no! This is child abuse...ok ok..i kid..but really this is WRONG! See the scared look on the poor girl's face...hiss!
Madam SSD..thanks a lot for your comment on my blog..I shall be coming for "parenting females 101" classes. :D
November 25, 2009 12:04 AM
LMAO...thats just wrong...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 25, 2009 8:51 AM
The only reasonable explanation is to say that was only for the purpose of taking that picture!
November 25, 2009 12:21 PM
Brainwashing starts early I see. Now we know why young girls grow up believing they have to relax their hair or cover it or hide it to look HUMAN.
Nice to see this woman has given her daughter a good headstart on self-hate.
November 26, 2009 4:17 PM
that is cruel...my first reaction when i saw this was 'blood of Jesus'. hmm wow.
